ali party part three

i have never played beer pong, but i have to say, i can't wait to play it again.

jes, kim, glennda, b-e-c-k becky becky becky, and i played. mary knapp played for a minute and then left her team to talk on the phone.

here is how it went down.

the teams were as follows:

jes and kim and mary knapp (for about two seconds)

vs.

glennda, becky, and me

now i feel like none of us suppa clubbers had played this extensively, but i knew becky was an expert when she asked "so are we doing brackets" meaning are we going to have competitive brackets like the final four. i told her we needed to take baby steps, so instead we would work with teams and b/c we didn't have that much beer, only put a little beer in each red cup.

for those of you are not "in the beer pong know" its a game you play on a ping pong table. you line up cups of beer like bowling pins and you try and throw and/or bounce a ping pong ball into a beer cup on the other side of the table and your opponent drinks that cup. yes, we washed the ping pong ball.

long story short, my team KICKED ASS. jes and kim talked a gang of shit, but mostly, they drank. here is a picture of one of the MANY times they drank:

oh and here they are again:

our team didn't have to drink all that much, but mostly when we did, it was becky drinking. i didn't even drink until the third game i think. here's a picture of our MVP, becky, taking one for the team:

by the end of the game, kim and jes (i think) were pretty drunkadoozles. it was kind of hilarious. they were a great team.
here is the whole beer pong gang:

now as you can imagine, (b/c both glennda and jes were playing) there was a great deal of trash talking going on. this trash talking resulting in two defining moments for the game. the first, i call "the ringer."

though we were dominating by a GREAT DEAL, becky, being the amazing team player she is, switched up her technique to try and IMPROVE her shot. she stepped up and threw the ping pong ball and it not only WENT IN the cup, it went around the rim of the cup like ten times before it fell in. of course kim had to drink b/c of it, but when the ball fell in we all shouted with glee "NOOOOOOO WWWWWWWAAYYYYY!!!!" and "AWWWWWWW SHHHHHHIIIITTTTT!" it was so fucking hilarious i almost peed in my pants. seriously, what was more hilarious then kim drinking for the 9th time in a row was glennda (and my) re-enactment of it over and over. we were all crying laughing.

the second defining moment i like to call the "booty assist." whenever kim was shooting and glennda was up she shook a little cleavage or booty to distract kim from her shot. one time kim shot while glennda was shaking her buns and the ping pong ball bounced off her butt and into the cup. it was outstanding. we all cheered with glee. glennda drank with pride and joy. kim was on top of the world.

other highlights of the evening: sitting out by the fire and making smores (this is where the rest of the party stayed while we played beer pong) and learning how to make mojitos that made ali (and others) very happy for most of the night.

after beer pong we all crashed. jes and i had to get up and out pretty early b/c we had a long drive home. we ate some breakfast, packed up our car and said our sad goodbyes.

we can't wait for the next party!

ali bday part two

so after we got back from the kroger, we decided to go outside and play catch. it was pretty hot and humid outside, and jes found some poison ivy that the ball may or may not have rolled into so we went inside after that. but before we did, i took a pic of gt and kim in their catch positions:

inside we cooled off in the basement (it was like a meat locker down there at night) by playing ping pong and maybe beginning to drink beer (not sure when it started). as a warm up, kim spanked glennda a little bit:

glennda, in turn, tried to spank ali when she came downstairs to take our order for the bbq. gt was unsuccessful because of ali's ninja reflexes:

when our grilled stuff was ready we headed back upstairs to join the rest of the party. by then becky and kami were there as were kim and lacy (ali's friends) along with all of us, monique and mary knapp and some folks with kids whose names i don't remember (the kids OR the adults which is weird b/c i almost always remember the kids names). i do remember that the baby girl had a pink wonderwoman onesie on that ali got her. adorable. in all of the hullaballo, i stopped ali to take a pic with me. i call it the blue eyed picture. i am sure you see why:

after everyone sufficiently stuffed themselves with grilled meats (fake and real) along with delicious sides like fruit, chips, pasta salad, etc. jes, kim and glennda brought out the gorgeous and oh-so-gay ice cream cake we got ali from dairy queen. anyone who knows ali knows she loves black, so glennda even got her some black candles.

after cake we hung out on the gravel drive way and chatted some: me, jes, glennda, kim and ultimately, mary knapp as well. the folks inside were talking diapers and politics while us outside were talking downward spirals, career plans and starting schools in bali. we were also throwing rocks at various things: bigger rocks, benches, etc. as a joke someone printed out a picture of an iphone and taped it to a cardboard box. here is a picture of kim pretending she is talking on it:

as the sun went down, the bugs came out so we headed back inside to graze some more on food, get some beers and head down to the ping pong table once again to gear up for: BEER PONG. here is a cute picture of the bday girl laughing and running. not sure why, but i love the joy in her face, so i am going to post it:

ok that is that for this post. a good place to end. next up: BEER PONG 2007.

when the comments get pushy... (part one

we get a blogging YO!

so had a full day of work, not too bad, my boss didn't come in b/c his car broke and the student worker left early so i basically just sat and talked to myself during the afternoon. not really, i actually typed up some stuff and enjoyed the silence (how very depeche mode of me). after work i went and got my hair did. earlier this week i decided i was going to cut off all my hair b/c i hate it and all i do is put it up in a pony tail or bun. jes talked me down off the ledge b/c it may not be prudent RIGHT NOW so new in my job to cut my hair like a boy, so we split the diff and i cut it chin length. i have jes take some pics and post them soon. after hair we went to recycle and pick up fruits and veggies at the farmers market. then we went and got some dinner at this new mexican restaurant near our house called sol y luna. not outstanding, but not terrible. the glass of sangria cost more than my bean burrito, so i would stay away from it unless you are independently wealthy (and if you are that, can you call me?) now we are home and i am sitting down to blog.

this blog is going to be all about nancy's 30th birthday party in the hills of ohio last weekend. last friday started out kind of shitty b/c we went to pick up the rental car and they didn't have any. 1.5 hours later we got none other than a motherfucking PT Cruiser- cream colored no less. But once we got into the car and got going we were kicking it. the sun was shining, the snacks were delish and we both got some good naps in. we got to the cabin around 7pm. the sun was still shining and most of the folks were there. here is a picture of nancy doing what she SHOULD NOT have been doing and that is checking her blackberry for work emails:

for the rest of the weekend, she was pretty good about not doing the work and focusing on the fun. here is a picture of the folks who were there on friday night and saturday morning:

we had these delish tacos on friday night and on saturday morning we made a yummy egg (and fake egg) scramble. i think the kids liked it. then jes, me, glennda and kim headed into town to buy some groceries and to get ali's (not so) secret ice cream cake from dairy queen. glennda drove and jes navigated, which meant that kim got pretty pukey in the back seat:

glennda, on the other hand remained pensive while driving through the cornfields of the midwest:

and here is jes and kim getting ready for kroger in lancaster, ohio. we really blended well there:

stay tuned to find out what happened next yall. its good times!

mondohomo 2007

so mondohomo went really well. it feels like it was years ago so i will do my best to remember what happened.
what is most important is i have some great photos. but they are all from saturday.
friday night was electro pop and homo hop and it was all great. it was hella loud so my ears were ringing by the end of the night. it also went really late so i didn't get to see it all b/c i was so tired even after a couple diet cokes.

saturday was my favorite mondohomo day b/c i was able to participate in everything. during the day there was an arts and crafts fair and these cute ass skater girls from the west coast taught folks (grown up and kids) how to skate. also my new favorite band team gina played.then at night there were all these bands: ex members, the shondes, rising appalachia, katastrophe, robosapien, and athens boys choir. we got to sell merch most of the night which was actually pretty fun. we could see/hear the music but we also got to chat with folks so that was nice.

allright i am getting tired, so i am going post the pics.

here is one of christina, she dates nikki. she makes DELISH cupcakes. here is a pic of her and her sweetcakes:

this one is my favorite pictures. its emma, the two ginas (gina bling & gina genius) and asha. fyi, i have a huge crush on gina genius.

my other crushes were on the skater girls. i love a skater girl as much as i love a sporty girl. i like to call this one "man grooves" b/c she had man grooves for days. luckily she kept her shirt off the whole afternoon so we got to see them A LOT.

i don't have a name for this woman, but i like how she is helping the little muffin learn how to skate:

here is gina WORKING IT OUT:

and another cutie skater helping a sweet little girl:

overall, mondohomo turned out really great. the panels that i helped coordinate at the us social forum turned out real well, (i was told-i couldn't make it to either), so that made me happy too. and jes and i bought like ten tshirts. not really, but we did buy a bunch. so many of them were so cute.

ok i need to hit the hizzay. TGIF tomorrow!
