we get a blogging YO!
so had a full day of work, not too bad, my boss didn't come in b/c his car broke and the student worker left early so i basically just sat and talked to myself during the afternoon. not really, i actually typed up some stuff and enjoyed the silence (how very depeche mode of me). after work i went and got my hair did. earlier this week i decided i was going to cut off all my hair b/c i hate it and all i do is put it up in a pony tail or bun. jes talked me down off the ledge b/c it may not be prudent RIGHT NOW so new in my job to cut my hair like a boy, so we split the diff and i cut it chin length. i have jes take some pics and post them soon. after hair we went to recycle and pick up fruits and veggies at the farmers market. then we went and got some dinner at this new mexican restaurant near our house called sol y luna. not outstanding, but not terrible. the glass of sangria cost more than my bean burrito, so i would stay away from it unless you are independently wealthy (and if you are that, can you call me?) now we are home and i am sitting down to blog.
this blog is going to be all about nancy's 30th birthday party in the hills of ohio last weekend. last friday started out kind of shitty b/c we went to pick up the rental car and they didn't have any. 1.5 hours later we got none other than a motherfucking PT Cruiser- cream colored no less. But once we got into the car and got going we were kicking it. the sun was shining, the snacks were delish and we both got some good naps in. we got to the cabin around 7pm. the sun was still shining and most of the folks were there. here is a picture of nancy doing what she SHOULD NOT have been doing and that is checking her blackberry for work emails:
for the rest of the weekend, she was pretty good about not doing the work and focusing on the fun. here is a picture of the folks who were there on friday night and saturday morning:
we had these delish tacos on friday night and on saturday morning we made a yummy egg (and fake egg) scramble. i think the kids liked it. then jes, me, glennda and kim headed into town to buy some groceries and to get ali's (not so) secret ice cream cake from dairy queen. glennda drove and jes navigated, which meant that kim got pretty pukey in the back seat:
glennda, on the other hand remained pensive while driving through the cornfields of the midwest:
and here is jes and kim getting ready for kroger in lancaster, ohio. we really blended well there:
stay tuned to find out what happened next yall. its good times!
