a tale of two birthdays-part two

i am not quite tired enough to fall asleep
and jes is watching the first episode of heroes on tivo, so i thought i would blog
so the second bday i want to tell you about is my friend emma's
she turned 30 on friday, september 28th but the excitement started sooner than that
on wednesday, emma's sweetie kristina surprised her with a little fun at log jam at mary's

the surprise was us, some balloons and most importantly, some cupcakes
our friend christina (with a "c") made these divine cupcakes. take a look;

we set up the cupcakes and balloons and stuff and then emma and kristina showed up with their friend nico from new york and diana from michigan. it was one surprise after another. here is a picture of emma blowing out the candles:

i think she was really surprised and felt pretty loved, so mission accomplished. wednesday is a school night, so we couldn't stay out too late. we were home and in the bed shortly after midnight.
